Hytale features 'Alterverses', which are alternative planets for players to explore. While many of these planets will likely come later in early access, players can expect each of them to feature unique zones and biomes, wildlife, and their own associated stories. Some alterverses are planned for much later in development; however, information about these planets has been teased through developer interviews.
Note: Alterverses are likely to be added over the course of early-access, this list contains information gathered from dev-teasers and community speculation.
Table of Contents
Orbis
Orbis is the main planet that players will spawn on in Hytale. Featuring a wide range of biomes and zones, Orbis provides a good idea of what an alterverse is intended to include. Orbis itself features the Emerald Grove, Howling Sands, Borea, and Devastated Lands zones, with more planned for release during early access. In total, Orbis is planned to have Six Zones, each providing its own unique feel.
Karpak
Karpak is the last, and largest alterverse currently known in Hytale. Not much is known about the planet, however it appears to feature large mountains, dangerous storms, and two glowing objects that are believed to be moons or stars. Karpak is likely planned for much later in development, and players can expect to get more information about the planet during early access.
Numdrassl
Numdrassl is one of the five planets teased from Hytale concept art. Currently, it is assumed that this elegant looking planet will share a connection to Gaia, the goddess of nature in Hytale. It is also believed that the planet will have a relationship with the Elves, which are a playable race in Hytale whose story is largely unknown. From its appearance, Numdrassl appears to share many similarities with Orbis.
Nexus
Nexus is another alterverse teased through official concept art, featuring a rocky, purple appearance. The planet shares a color scheme associated with Void Magic and Varyn, who is the main antagonist in the story of Hytale. The planets appearance is reminiscent of the corrupted appearance seen in Outlanders, making it likely that this alterverse will have major impact in the games story.
Tor'Balyn
Tor'Balyn is the fourth planet seen in the official concept art, and features a unique, fiery red design. There are also large cracks, and mountains featured on the planets surface, indicating intense seismic activity that may have caused some parts of the planet to split off. Tor'Balyn will likely feature landscapes reminiscent of the Devasted Lands biome on Orbis, featuring large lava lakes, and scorched dangerous terrain.
