Enabling hardcore mode on a Night of the Dead server raises the survival stakes by making death far more punishing, turning every zombie encounter and base raid into a high-tension experience. It pushes players toward deliberate resource management, strategic base construction, and coordinated team play to survive the increasingly hostile night waves. This added layer of difficulty creates a grueling challenge that tests experienced players' mastery over the game's crafting, combat, and defense mechanics.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Select the Settings tab and choose Server Config.
4. From the Difficulty line, edit the value to Custom.
Note: Custom settings will use the default values in the config. Learn how to change the difficulty here.
5. Next to the Hardcore line, change the value to 1.
6. Press the Save button.
7. Start the server.
