Changing the Message of the Day (MOTD) on a Night of the Dead server allows administrators to instantly communicate essential information to players as soon as they join. It provides a direct channel to outline server rules, announce scheduled horde nights or events, and share active Discord links or community guidelines. Updating this message regularly keeps the player base informed, sets clear expectations for gameplay behavior, and maintains an active, well-managed community.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Select the Settings tab and choose Server Settings.
4. In the DefaultMessageOfTheDay line, enter the desired message. Input \n to create a new line.
Note: In-game admins can change the message, but it will revert after a server restart. Learn how to admin here.
5. Press the Save button.
6. Start the server.
