The order of custom mods determines how a Project Zomboid server reads and prioritizes additional content. The game processes these additions in sequence from top to bottom, meaning items placed lower on the list override overlapping features from those above them. Core frameworks and foundational files must be at the top of the list to ensure that dependent mods have the resources it needs to function. Map expansions follow these foundational files and precede new vehicles, custom weapons, and interface changes. A structured list prevents missing textures, unexpected crashes, and broken mechanics when players connect to the world.
