Project Zomboid features an integral mechanic available to players at character creation, allowing them to select positive and negative traits that can significantly impact their chances of survival. By adding free trait points, players can enjoy a relaxed requirement for negative traits, allowing them to pursue more skills, or increased resilience to better survive the dangerous zombie hordes.

How to Add Free Trait Points at Character Creation on a Project Zomboid Server (Panel)

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. Stop the server.

3. Go to the Files tab.

4. Find the following directory: /home/container/.cache/server .

5. Open the [SaveName]_SandboxVars.lua file.

6. Change the CharacterFreePoints value to the desired number of free trait points.

7. Press the Save button.

8. Start the server.

How to Add Free Trait Points at Character Creation on a Project Zomboid Server (Admin Menu)

1. Join the server as an admin.

2. Click the Admin icon to open the Admin Panel.

3. Select Sandbox Options.

4. Open the Character menu.

5. Next to the Free Trait Points setting, enter the desired number of free points.

6. Click Apply Changes.
