Improving Pal Sanity (SAN) recovery in Palworld maintains high mental stability among base workers, preventing debilitating stress ailments like depression, fractures, or eating disorders. This setting minimizes downtime from rest or slacking, ensuring continuous, uninterrupted automated resource production. Ultimately, high SAN values reduce operational friction by eliminating the frequent need to craft expensive medicines or replace incapacitated Pals.

SAN Reduction
Working at the base depletes a pal's sanity and eventually makes them sick. However, certain buildings and passives help reduce SAN depletion at the base.
Clinics
Health Care Infrastructures that reduce SAN depletion and prevent illnesses where a medicine pal is assigned.

Alpha Wave Generator
A special structure that basically reduces SAN depletion at the base. Having multiple generators does not stack the effect of one.

Monitoring Stands
A pal management structure that assigns or restricts work for pals. Higher quality monitoring stands help reduce SAN depletion at the base. Also allows changing base pal work mode to reduce SAN at the cost of work speed.

Pal Passives
There are passive skills that can be taught to base pals from the Pal Surgery Table at Level 38. These passives help reduce SAN depletion on specific pals.

Shroomer Noct
Shroomer Noct reduces SAN Depletion while working at the base from 10% to 15% fully condensed.
Players can find the pal around Sakurajima's Mushroom Wetlands or Feybreak's Coral Hill.
Food
Most cooked food already provides a base SAN recovery for hungry pals. One food in particular, French Fries, reduces the SAN depletion for a period of time.
SAN Recovery
Once a pal gets stressed while working at the base, they will start to slack off or even get depressed. SAN recovery buildings help pals take short breaks and continue working at the base.
Pal Beds
During the night, pals go to sleep to recover for the next day. A higher-quality bed helps pals recover faster and fully for the day ahead. Some pals are nocturnal or have passives like Insomnia or Vampiric and do not sleep at night. Nocturnal pals will take frequent breaks throughout the night to recover SAN.

Hot Springs
Provides SAN recovery for base pals who need to take a break. A higher-quality hot spring improves recovery rates, allowing pals to get right back to work.

Food
Most food cooked at a kitchen will have a SAN value. The values recover the pal's sanity. Having a steady farm to produce the ingredients will help improve the base sanity.
Common Food Choices
-
Salad- Uses only lettuce and tomato while increasing work speed. -
Minestrone- The upgrade to the Salad at the cost of more ingredients. -
Honey- Does not require any cooking and can be obtained from Beegarde at a ranch.
