Crude oil is a very important resource in Palworld. Unlocking around the mid-game, oil is used in the creation of Plasteel, a critical material for weapons, armor, and much more. Oil is primarily harvested from crude oil deposits in high-level zones, requiring a large amount of pal metal and other materials. The oil extractors provide oil at a slow rate and require a large amount of electricity. Generally, a large power generator is required to manage an oil extractor, as the small generators are less efficient.
1. The Crude Oil Extractor recipe is unlocked at Tech Tier 50.
2. The recipe requires 250 Pal Metal Ingots and 50 Circuit Boards.
3. To be able to power the extractor, a Large Power Generator is required, unlockable as an Ancient Technology at Tech Tier 50.
4. The Large Power Generator also requires 200 Pal Metal Ingots and 200 Electric Organs.
5. With the required technologies learned, place a base around a Crude Oil Deposit. These will be small outcroppings in higher-level areas.
6. Alternatively, the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor can be used without a natural oil deposit. However, they are much more expensive and require more power.
7. Press B to open the Build Menu, and navigate to the Production tab.
8. From the Lumber/Mining category, select the Crude Oil Extractor.
9. Place the extractor on the crude oil deposit.
10. Return to the Build Menu, and navigate to the Infrastructure tab.
11. From the Electricity category, select the Large Power Generator.
12. Place the generator; be sure to assign electric pals as soon as possible.
13. Crude oil will be continuously produced, provided it has enough Power.
