A core mechanic in Palworld is expeditions, which are lengthy endeavors that reward players with various key resources. Many of these resources are more abundant from expeditions than from other sources, so sending pals when available is very important for later progression. Expeditions will require pals with large amounts of firepower, which can be increased through various traits, star levels, and overall stats. Sending expeditions early on is extremely important to stockpile resources for the late game.

What Are Expeditions?

Expeditions are background missions that Pal Tamers can send their pals on. Taking anywhere from 30 Minutes to 2 Hours, and requiring certain amounts of progression, firepower, and Pal types. The rewards can vary from area-specific resources to research materials or even Ancient Civilization Cores. Players can send up to 100 Pals on expeditions, and to reach the required firepower, Pal Tamers will need to send Ranked Up Pals. Either from condensing copies or consuming Starfruit. Expedition areas are only unlocked after clearing their corresponding Boss Tower.

How to Send an Expedition

1. Research and build the Pal Expedition Station, available at Tech Tier 22.

2. Interact with the station and select an Area to send the pals.

3. Areas must be unlocked by defeating their associated Boss Tower.

4. Selecting an area will display the expedition Duration, Recommended Firepower, and Required Types, as well as the Possible Item Drops.

5. Select which pals to send from the Palbox on the left.

6. Alternatively, pressing Auto-Assign will automatically select pals.

7. To exclude a pal from auto-assignment, toggle the Expedition Exclusion Settings and select any pals to exclude.

8. Selected pals will display their Expedition Firepower.

9. Expeditions must hit a Total Firepower and a certain number of Pal Types to receive full rewards.

10. A pal's expedition firepower can be increased by upgrading their Rank and Level.

11. To upgrade a pal's rank, Starfruit can be consumed, which are purchasable from the Medal Merchants.

12. Alternatively, pals can be ranked up by consuming duplicate pals at the Pal Essence Condenser.

13. Each pal requires 48 Copies to reach 4 Stars.

14. After selecting the desired pals, press Start to send the expedition.

15. Selected pals will be Unavailable for the duration of the expedition.
