Adding a domain to a web hosting server establishes a unique digital identity, allowing users to access a specific website via a memorable URL instead of a complex IP address. This process enables the server to direct incoming traffic to the correct file directory, ensuring that the intended content is displayed to visitors. Furthermore, linking a domain provides the foundation for creating professional, branded email accounts and for managing essential security certificates, such as SSL certificates.
