Taming wildlife in Hytale involves holding an animal's favorite food and gently interacting with it to prevent it from fleeing. Once animals are guided into secure, fenced pens, feeding them keeps them content and allows players to collect resources such as milk or wool. Mounts such as horses can also be ridden by feeding them specific crops like carrots right before mounting.

1. Find an animal to tame.

2. Acquire the animal’s preferred food.

3. While holding its preferred food, press F to tame the animal.

4. Continue holding the preferred food to lure the newly tamed animal back to base.
