Setting the galaxy seed on a Cubic Odyssey server is crucial because it determines the unique, procedurally generated layout of all planets and star systems, ensuring every playthrough feels new and varied. By using a custom or shared seed, server hosts can reproduce a known world structure for an intentional challenge or a planned cooperative experience with friends. This control over world generation facilitates a consistent and predictable galaxy map for community events, speedruns, or simply to enjoy a favored configuration of resources and points of interest.
Note: A new world must be created for the world seed to take effect. Make a backup to save any necessary files.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Go to the Startup tab.
4. From the World Seed field, enter the desired seed.
5. Go to the Files tab.
6. Delete or rename the save_server folder to create a backup.
7. Start the server.
