The Instance Manager is a feature on all BisectHosting game servers that organizes multiple games and server setups on a single server. By keeping server files separate, this system prevents data loss when swapping to a different game or switching between existing instances. It also allows server owners to link the server name to the active instance and to delete unused instances when they are no longer needed.

Note: The Instance Manager has a shared storage limit of 40GB. If the files across all instances exceed this limit (e.g., Ark servers), backing up the files and starting a new installation is recommended.

How to Access the Instance Manager

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. Stop the server.

3. On the Active Instance table, choose Manage.

4. The Instance Manager will appear, where instances can be created or swapped to.

5. Start the server.

How to Use the Instance Manager

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. Stop the server. 

3. On the Installed Game table, select Swap.

4. Pick a game.

5. Choose an option for storing previous files and click Next.

• Delete Files: Deletes the current files and creates a new instance.
• Store existing files in an Empty Instance: Creates a new instance while saving the current files in a separate instance for later use.

6. For new instances, enter a name and select a startup variables option.

7. Hit Next.

8. Click Confirm. 

9. Wait for the installation to finish. This may take a few minutes.

10. Start the server.

How to Create Instances

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. Stop the server. 

3. On the Active Instance table, choose Manage.

4. Click the New Instance button.

How to Swap Instances

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. Stop the server. 

3. On the Active Instance table, choose Manage.

4. Select Set as Active on the instance to swap to.

5. Click Confirm. 

6. Wait for the swap to finish.

7. Start the server. 

How to Link the Server Name to an Instance

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. From the Server Name, click the edit icon.

3. Toggle on the Link Active Instance Name setting.

4. To unlink, click the unlink icon next to the server name.

How to Download Instances

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. Stop the server. 

3. On the Active Instance table, choose Manage.

4. On the instance, click the More Options icon (three vertical dots).

5. Select Download.

6. Choose which files to download.

7. Press Download.

8. Wait for the instance download to be created.

9. On the Download Ready notification, press Click Here to download the instance.

10. Alternatively, go to the Activity Log tab.

11. Select the Live Activities tab.

12. On the latest Creating Instance Download entry, hit Download.

How to Delete Instances

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. Stop the server. 

3. On the Active Instance table, choose Manage.

4. On the instance, click the More Options icon (three vertical dots).

5. Select Delete.

6. Click Remove to confirm.

7. A notification will appear when the instance has been deleted.
