This can greatly expand the multiplayer options for players, helping them find each other more easily. Alternatively, restricting voice ranges can help create a more realistic experience on a server.

How to Change the Voice Chat Settings on a Project Zomboid Server (Panel)

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. Stop the server.

3. Go to the Files tab.

4. Find the following directory: /home/container/.cache/Server

5. Open [SaveName].ini for editing. The .ini file is labeled depending on the Save/Config Name in the Startup tab.

6. On the VoiceEnable= line, ensure the value is set to true for VoIP to be enabled.

7. Adjust any other desired voice settings.

Setting	Description
`VoiceEnable=[true/false]`	VOIP is enabled when set to `true`.
`VoiceMinDistance=[tiles]`	The minimum tile distance over which VOIP sounds can be heard. Min: `0.00` Max: `100000.00`
`VoiceMaxDistance=[tiles]`	The maximum tile distance over which VOIP sounds can be heard. Min: `0.00` Max: `100000.00`
`Voice3D=[true/false]`	Toggle directional audio for VOIP.

8. Press Save.

9. Start the server.

1. Join the server as an admin.

2. Click the Admin icon.

3. Select See Server Options.

4. In the Filters bar, enter voice.

5. Hover over VoiceEnable and click Change.

6. Choose true from the dropdown and hit Save.

7. Adjust any other desired voice settings.
