Project Zomboid starts players with various benefits, including access to electricity and water in houses and buildings. This allows players to acquire water easily or use objects such as the TV to quickly gain necessary skills. By default, both water and electricity will eventually shut off at a random time. The time can be somewhat controlled by setting a date range, which will begin from the server start date. This feature can also be disabled, allowing players to always use these resources, or set to happen instantly, providing a much more challenging experience.

How to Change the Water/Electricity Shutoff on a Project Zomboid Server (Panel)
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Go to the Files tab.
4. Find the following directory: /home/container/.cache/server
5. Open the [SaveName]_SandboxVars.lua file.
6. Adjust the WaterShut value to set the time range before water shuts off in buildings.

8. Press the Save button.
9. Start the server.
How to Change the Water/Electricity Shutoff on a Project Zomboid Server (Admin Menu)
1. Join the server as an admin.
2. Click the Admin icon.
3. Select Sandbox Options.
4. Open the World menu.
5. Change the Water Shutoff value to the desired time range.
6. Set the Electricity Shutoff time range.
7. Choose Apply Changes.
