Adjusting the Entity Broadcast Range Percentage on a Minecraft server determines how close a player must be to an entity, such as a mob, item frame, or dropped item, before the server starts transmitting its data to their game client. Lowering this percentage significantly reduces server lag and bandwidth usage by stopping the server from processing and sending updates for distant, unnoticeable entities. However, setting it too low can cause creatures and objects to abruptly pop into existence right in front of players, disrupting visual immersion and affecting gameplay mechanics such as ranged combat.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Select the Config Files tab and choose Server Properties.
4. In the Entity Broadcast Range Percentage field, enter the desired percentage.
Note: Entering a value lower than
60will affect the gameplay experience.
