Changing the mob spawn range on a Minecraft server allows administrators to control the exact radius around players where monsters and animals can appear. Lowering this setting prevents excessive mob build-up, significantly reducing server lag and hardware strain when multiple players are online. Conversely, expanding the range prevents mobs from abruptly populating right next to a player, creating a more realistic and immersive survival experience.
