Switching worlds on a Windrose server allows administrators to introduce entirely new environments and challenges, preventing gameplay from becoming repetitive for long-term players. This process enables the rotation of different map seeds or community-created terrains, ensuring exploration remains central and rewarding throughout the experience. Furthermore, changing worlds provides a clean slate for the server's economy and progression, which is often necessary to accommodate major game updates or to revitalize the competitive landscape.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Go to the Files tab.
4. Find the following directory: /home/container/R5/Saved/SaveProfiles/Default/RocksDB/<game version>/Worlds
5. Take note of the desired world ID. Right-click a world, then choose Rename to copy the ID.
Note: World ID names are tied to the game database and must remain the same.
6. Go to the Startup tab.
7. In the Island ID field, enter the world ID from step 5.
