SCUM ordinarily provides a brief grace period to fresh spawns, shielding them from immediate danger as they parachute onto the island. Disabling new player protection creates a hardcore survival experience from the first second. Without a safety net, every fresh prisoner must rely on stealth and situational awareness to avoid heavily armed rivals and roaming puppets.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Select the Config Files tab and choose Server Settings.
4. Navigate to the [Features] section.
5. On the scum.EnableNewPlayerProtection= line, change the value to False.
6. Press the Save button.
7. Start the server.
