Changing the version on a Factorio server covers various technical and gameplay requirements. Selecting a newer release applies recent bug fixes, performance improvements, and newly added game features. Conversely, rolling back to an older version is often necessary to maintain compatibility with specific mods or modpacks that do not support the latest release.
Note: Newer saves are incompatible with older Factorio versions.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Go to the Startup tab.
4. In the Factorio Version field, input a version. View a list of versions here.
Note: Input
latestto return to the latest version.
5. Go to the Home tab.
6. On the Reinstall Server table, click Reinstall.
7. Choose an option and click Reinstall. This may take a few minutes.
8. Start the server.
How to Change the Version of a Factorio Client
1. From the Steam Library, right-click Factorio and select Properties.
2. Go to the Game Versions & Betas tab.
