Mods in Factorio are player-created modifications that enhance and expand the game's content and mechanics. They allow players to customize their Factorio experience, introducing new features, items, and challenges. Whether you're looking to optimize your factory, explore new technologies, or create complex automation systems, the wide range of Factorio mods offers endless possibilities to tailor the game to your preferences.
Requirement: The client must match the mods on the server.
Note: A new save is recommended when installing mods. Learn how to create a new save here.
How to Install Mods on a Factorio Server (API Token)
1. Log in to Factorio.
2. On the upper right, go to the user profile.
3. Under Profile, copy the Username and Token.
4. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
5. Stop the server.
6. Go to the Startup tab.
7. On the [Mod Installer] Factorio User field, enter the Username from step 3.
8. On the [Mod Installer] API Token field, enter the Token from step 3.
9. Visit the Factorio Mod Portal.
10. To add a mod to the server, select the bookmark icon.
11. To remove a mod from the server, deselect the bookmark icon.
12. Return to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
13. Start the server.
How to Install Mods on a Factorio Server (Manual)
1. Download a mod from the Factorio Mod Portal.
2. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase Panel.
3. Stop the server.
4. Go to the Files tab.
5. Enter the mods folder.
6. Upload the mod from step 1.
7. Open mod-list.json.
8. Within the "mods": brackets [], input the following lines below, placing a comma between each mod:

}Note: Mod names must match the downloaded filename exactly, excluding the version number. This includes preserving any dashes or underscores.
9. Press the Save button.
10. Start the server.
How to Install Mods on a Factorio Client
1. Launch Factorio.
2. From the main menu, click Mods.
3. Go to the Install tab.
4. Select a mod and click Install.
5. Once finished installing, hit Confirm. The game will restart.
