Barotrauma has helpful AI companions that can fill out roles and complete tasks on the submarine. These bots can be added from the campaign management menu and configured to appear only when there are not enough players online. This ensures that, while other players might be away, progress can continue and roles will not go unfilled, preventing a near-certain disaster if the ship's engineer does not show up for work.
Note: Bots can only be added by server admins or players with specific permissions.
1. Join the server as admin. Learn how to here.
2. Under Gamemode Settings, locate Bot Settings.
3. Adjust the Bot count as desired.
4. Set the Bot spawn mode. When set to Fill, the server will add bots until the player count exceeds the Bot count.
5. Press the Start button.
