Pinging a Minecraft server tests its availability and connection speed by sending a quick data packet to the host. Measuring the time it takes to receive a response reveals the server's exact latency and online status. This process helps players identify potential lag and connectivity issues before joining the game.
Note: Players can experience lag with a ping higher than
190ms.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Copy the IP Address.
3. Open the Command Prompt app.
4. Input the following with the IP Address from step 2: ping -n 5 <IP Address>
5. Delete the colon and port from the IP Address.
6. Press Enter on the keyboard to run the command.
How to Check the Ping in Minecraft
1. Launch Minecraft.
2. Choose Multiplayer.
3. Press the Add Server button.
4. Input the server details and select Done.
5. Click Refresh. Wait a few seconds.
