In WARDOGS, bullet types are split into distinct classes designed to target different defensive setups and combat ranges. Certain ammunition types prioritize raw stopping power against unarmored targets, while others are engineered to penetrate heavy armor or maintain stability at distance. Choosing the right round for a given engagement allows players to maximize their weapon's efficiency against specific opponent gear and armor levels.

Despite varying bullet types that change the playstyle of a player, weapons within the same category do not actually change the damage of the bullet. For example, every SMG carrying 9x19mm bullets will all deal the same amount of damage per bullet. However, the Scout Rifle TD from the Sniper category will deal more 5.56mm bullet damage than the M4 from the Assault Rifle category. Players choose higher-tier weapons because of other factors like the rate of fire or available attachments.
Standard (FMJ)
The Standard FMJ bullet is an all-rounder, balanced bullet type. It is the first available bullet type for all weapons, dealing good enough damage against both armored and unarmored targets. However, FMJ does not scale well against higher-tier armor, and players will feel the damage drop-off.
There is a unique bullet type called the .50CAL that only comes in Standard FMJ. The .50CAL is well known as the bullet type for the AMR 50 Sniper. It is also used for the M2 Browning.
Flesh Damage (HP)
The Flesh Damage HP bullet deals more damage to unarmored targets at the cost of very little damage against armored targets. Players can still choose to use HP bullets, especially with the high fire rate of SMGs, against high-tier armored targets because the armor does not cover the legs or arms. The legs take more damage than the arms, but legs are not always exposed, and arms are harder to hit. This makes the HP bullet a very tactical use case scenario.
Armor Piercing (AP)
The Armor Piercing AP bullet does the opposite of an HP bullet, dealing more damage to armor while dealing less damage to unarmored areas of the target. Once players start to unlock tier-3 armor and above, the AP bullets start to become a more viable choice. This is an even better choice when trying to shoot players out of vehicles like the Humvee. The AP bullet is the final bullet-type unlock, and it gives players confidence that their bullets will always penetrate the enemy, at the cost of dealing less damage to unarmored targets.
