In 7 Days to Die, survival relies on securing sustainable food sources, which includes establishing functional chicken coops. This involves capturing wild birds, returning them to a base, and supplying them with crafted feed to produce a steady yield of eggs and feathers. Captured birds have a stress gauge that triggers unpredictable encounters, such as drawing the attention of nearby zombies when they panic. To manage these mechanics on servers, administrators have access to several settings that allow adjustments to production speed, feed requirements, resource yields, and the overall severity of stress-related incidents.
