Changing the world map settings on a Vintage Story server allows administrators to either completely disable the map to encourage realistic exploration or restore the classic, colorful style for a traditional look. This flexibility lets a community decide whether they want a hardcore survival experience focused on manual navigation or a more vibrant, accessible map system. Customizing these options ensures the visual and mechanical layout of the world map perfectly matches the server's playstyle.
