Claiming a safehouse on a Project Zomboid server designates a specific building as a private sanctuary for an individual or faction. A player establishes a claim by right-clicking the floor of a cleared residential building, though many servers require surviving several in-game days before this option appears. Once a claim is active, built-in protections prevent unauthorized players from entering the structure or interacting with containers inside. Owners can manage their safehouse through the character menu to invite faction members or enable a personal respawn point.
Requirement: Player safehouses must be enabled on the server. Learn how to here.
1. Join the server.
2. Choose a location. It must not be a spawn point.
3. Once cleared of zombies, right-click on the floor and select Claim Safehouse.
4. To edit the safehouse, right-click on the floor and choose View Safehouse.
5. Modify the desired details.
6. To remove a safehouse, click Release Safehouse.
