The getsockopt error on a Minecraft server typically occurs when the underlying network connection between the host and the player is abruptly severed or timed out. This issue is often caused by firewall restrictions, aggressive antivirus software, or misconfigured router settings that block the specific port the game uses to communicate. Resolving it generally involves updating Java versions, whitelisting the server in security software, or ensuring that the network drivers are entirely up to date to prevent packet loss.
