SCP: 5K servers can be made private by setting up a server whitelist. A whitelist adds players by their SteamIDs and only allows authorized players to connect. Adding a server whitelist is a more secure method of restricting access than using a server password, as it prevents the password from being leaked and requires users to add new players to the list manually.
How to Set a Whitelist on an SCP: 5K Server (Panel)
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Select the Config Files tab and choose Server Config.
4. On the bUseWhitelist line, change the value to True.
5. Press Save.
6. Select the Config Files tab and choose Whitelist IDs.
7. Enter a user's SteamID64 in a new line. Learn how to find a player's SteamID64 here.
8. Press Save.
9. Start the server.
How to Set a Whitelist on an SCP: 5K Server (In-game)
1. After enabling the whitelist, join the server as an admin or owner.
2. Press Enter to open the chat.
3. Run the following command to whitelist a user: /whitelist [SteamID64]
