SCP: 5K servers can be made private by setting up a server whitelist. A whitelist adds players by their steamID's and only allows authorized players to connect. Adding a server whitelist is a more secure method of restricting access than using a server password, as it ensures the password cannot be leaked and requires users to add new players to the list manually.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Choose the Config Files dropdown menu and select Whitelist IDs.
4. In a new line, enter a user's SteamID64 to add them to the list.
5. Once finished editing, choose Save.
6. Choose the Config Files dropdown menu and select Server Config.
7. Navigate to the bUseWhitelist line.
8. Change the value to True .
9. Once finished editing, choose Save.
10. Start the server.
