Vintage Story servers feature multiple playstyles that function as preset world settings. These settings drastically change the gameplay of the world. They can be as drastic as setting the world to a super flat state with unlimited resources, or as hardcore and realistic as a setting that amps up the server's realism. Regardless of preferred playstyle, there are many options for a player to choose from, and many settings can be further edited after world generation.
Note: Servers must create a new world or reset the server to configure playstyle.
Note: Make backups locally to save any necessary files.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Select the Settings tab and choose Server Config.
4. From the Save File Location section, enter a new .vcdbs name.
5. Open the Play Style dropdown menu, and select a new playstyle. Descriptions for each can be found below.
Note: Adjusting playstyle will change many config options, make backups to keep existing files.

| Homo Sapiens | Removes all lore content and evidence of current or past civilizations. The players are the first and only humans on the planet. Stronger focus on realistic survival. |
