Don't Starve Together servers can be set up with a linked Steam group by utilizing the group ID. With a Steam group linked, users can restrict access to the server for only group members and make any group administrators in-game admins. This allows for an alternative method of making a private server instead of adding a password or whitelist, ensuring that only players in the Steam group can play.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Go to the Files tab.
4. Find the following directory: /home/container/DoNotStarveTogether/config/server .
5. Open the cluster.ini file.
6. Paste the following in a new line:
[STEAM]
steam_group_id = GroupIDHere
steam_group_only = true
steam_group_admins = true-
steam_group_id- copied from the group administration page. Learn how to find here. -
steam_group_only- makes it so that only group members can join the server. -
steam_group_admins- grants all Steam group administrators in-game admin privileges.
7. Press the Save button.
8. Start the server.
9. The server browser listing will show as a Private Group Server.
