Manually updating SMAPI on a Stardew Valley server ensures compatibility with the latest game version and access to new features, improvements, and bug fixes. Note: Pre-installed mods may break when manually updating. Make backups locally to save any necessary files.
1. Download SMAPI here.
2. Extract the .zip file to a folder.
3. Find the following directory: SMAPI-[version]-installer\SMAPI [version] installer\internal\linux .
4. Rename install.dat to install.zip.
5. When prompted, click Yes.
6. Minimize the file to use later in the tutorial.
7. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
8. Stop the server.
9. Go to the Files tab.
10. Drag and drop the .zip file from step 6.
11. Right-click on install.zip and hit Unarchive.
12. Start the server.
