Stardew Valley has many unique and charming NPC townsfolk, with even more being added through mods. NPCs in Stardew Valley are also very customizable through the game files. Users can import custom portraits from third-party websites that modify the look of any NPC in the game, adding variety for multiple playthroughs.
1. Download a portrait mod from Nexus Mods.
2. From the Steam Library, right-click Stardew Valley, hover Manage, and select Browse local files.
3. Open the Content folder.
4. Depending on the mod, transfer the files into one of the following folders:

Portraits Folder: Move into the Content folder.

.xnbFiles: Move into the Portraits folder.
5. The portraits are purely client-side and will be updated next time the game is launched.
