Barotrauma servers allow players to seamlessly switch between and load different saves from a convenient and user-friendly menu. While server admins typically do switching saves, it can be done by anyone with the proper permissions or access, including custom ranks. Players can continue any progress before renting a server by uploading a local save, ensuring a seamless and straightforward transition from local to server hosting.
1. Launch Barotrauma.
2. Select Load Game from the main menu.
3. Press the Show in Folder button.
4. Open the Multiplayer folder.
5. Minimize the folder to use later in the tutorial.
6. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
7. Stop the server.
8. Go to the Files tab.
9. Open the Saves folder. If not present, start and stop the server.
10. Upload the desired .save and CharacterData files from step 5.
11. Start the server.
12. Join the server as an admin. Learn how to admin here.
13. Select Campaign from the game mode menu.
14. Go to the Load Campaign section.
15. Select the uploaded save.
16. When ready to start, press Load.
