Barotrauma servers allow players to seamlessly switch between and load different saves from a convenient and user-friendly menu. While server admins typically handle switching saves, anyone with the proper permissions or access can do so, including custom ranks. Players can continue their progress before renting a server by uploading a local save, ensuring a seamless, straightforward transition from local to server hosting.
1. Launch Barotrauma.
2. Select Load Game from the main menu.
3. Press the Show in Folder button.
4. Open the Multiplayer folder.
5. Minimize the folder to use later in the tutorial.
6. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
7. Stop the server.
8. Go to the Files tab.
9. Open the Saves folder. If not present, start and stop the server.
10. Upload the desired .save and CharacterData files from step 5.
11. Start the server.
12. Join the server as an admin. Learn how to admin here.
13. From the gamemode menu, select Campaign.
14. Go to the Load Campaign section.
15. Choose the save from step 10.
16. Press Load.
