Command blocks can be used on a Minecraft server to issue console commands from in-game using redstone power. This opens many possibilities for automated server functions and can also be used to create fun, creative rewards for players. While complex, these command blocks can be used with mods and plugins to enable unique server experiences that are impossible with any other block type. Because console commands are used, command blocks can only be spawned by an operator.
Note: The command block option has been moved to gamerules and is enabled by default on Minecraft versions 1.21.9 and above. For older versions, see here.
