Insurgency: Sandstorm utilizes the Mod.io platform to offer a convenient hub for browsing and installing community-created content. This system adds significant depth to the game, offering easy access to custom maps, game modes, and unique mutators. Administrators can enable these features on a dedicated server by linking an authentication token and listing specific mod IDs in the configuration settings. Players can install mods locally by browsing the mod manager in-game, ensuring they can acquire any mods enabled on the server.
1. Log in to Mod.io.
2. On the lower left, click My account.
3. Select API Access.
4. Below OAuth Access, enter a Client name and click Create.
5. Under Token name, input a name, select Read + Write, then click the plus icon.
6. Copy the token.
7. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
8. Stop the server.
9. Go to the Startup tab.
10. On the Enable Mod Support table, toggle on the button.
11. On the [Modding] ModIO Access Token field, paste the token from step 6.
12. Return to Mod.io and choose a mod.
13. Copy the mod ID.
14. Under Description, take note of Mutators and Config changes.
15. Return to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
16. Go to the Files tab.
17. Find the following directory: /home/container/Insurgency/Config/Server
18. Open the Mods.txt file.
If not present, choose Create and click Create File.
19. Paste the mod ID from step 13. Separate multiple IDs with a new line.
20. Press the Save button.
If creating a new file, label it Mods.txt and hit Create File.
21. Go to the Startup tab.
22. On the [Modding] Modlist field, input Mods.
23. On the [Modding] Mutators table, toggle on the button and input the mutator from step 14. Separate multiple mutators with a comma.
24. Under the Config Files tab, select Game.ini.
25. Enter the Config changes from step 14.
26. Press the Save button.
