Don't Starve Together has a mechanic that lowers players maximum health when using specific items, or when starving. Users can modify the setting so that there is no penalty to max health through this mechanic, making the game much more forgiving. Other settings, including changing Day Length, can also ease the game's difficulty, which can be very hard for someone new by default.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Go to the Files tab.
4. Find the following directory: /home/container/DoNotStarveTogether/config/server/Master .
Note: If using uploaded world settings, follow steps 5-7. Otherwise, skip to step 8.
5. If level data is present, open the leveldataoverride.lua file.
6. From the healthpenalty= setting, change the value to none.
7. Press the Save button.
8. If level data is not present, open the worldgenoverride.lua file.
9. Within the overrides= brackets {}, enter the following: healthpenalty="none", .
Note: The
worldgenoverride.luafile will also list worldgen options if opened on a fresh server (reinstalled or never started).
10. Press the Save button.
11. Start the server.
