Over The Top: WWI servers allow users to create a list of banned words that will be filtered from the in-game chat. This prevents users from needing to mute individual users as frequently or disable the chat entirely, instead filtering out phrases that could be harmful or inflammatory. Setting up a chat filter is an essential step for large servers, as they can attract a wide range of players who may try to skirt rules or start arguments.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Go to the Files tab.
4. Open the BannedWords.txt file.
5. Enter any words to be banned per-line. Spaces can be included to filter phrases.
6. Press Save.
7. Start the server.
8. Any banned words will now be filtered from the chat.
