Limiting player respawns on a Vintage Story server adds significant consequence and tension to survival, transforming death from a minor inconvenience into a high-stakes event that demands careful planning. This setting is often used in "hardcore" or seasonal play to encourage teamwork and caution, as players can no longer recklessly throw themselves into danger without risking permanent or long-term exclusion. By enforcing a life cap, administrators can create a more challenging and rewarding progression system where staying alive becomes the ultimate badge of skill and preparation.
Note: Once the player can no longer respawn, reset the player data or adjust the respawn value to play again. Learn how to reset player data here.
