Managing donation preferences for a BisectHosting server is a great way to customize the experience. By adjusting the preferences, users can receive email notifications whenever a player donates, require Discord usernames, or set personalized messages when a player sends a donation. By managing donation preferences, server owners can help ensure players feel appreciated for their contributions.
Note: Donations are received as Account Credits, which can be used to pay for server renewal costs. Donations cannot be cashed out.
Note: Account credits are automatically applied to newly generated invoices and can be applied manually to any existing invoices on the account.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Go to the Donations tab.
3. Ensure that Donations are Toggled On.
4. Review the Terms of Service Agreement, then choose I Accept.
Note: By accepting the Terms of Service, the user acknowledges that all transactions are final. There are no refunds available for donations to servers.
5. Navigate to the Preferences section.
6. The Server Display Name and Description will change the info displayed on the donation page.
7. The Currency section indicates what currency donations will be accepted in. Donations in other currencies will not be accepted.
Note: Currency is set upon account creation, and cannot be changed.
8. The In-Game Confirmation Message can be used on servers for specific games, such as Minecraft, to display a message in-game when a player donates.
9. The Miscellaneous section contains various toggles, including:
- Email Notifications, sent whenever a user donates to the server.
- Required Discord Usernames during donation checkout.
- Displaying Server IP on the main page of the donation link.
- Leaderboards displayed on the donation page, ranking the top donators.
