The Server Pack Creator is an essential tool for Minecraft server administrators as it automates the process of generating the necessary Server Resource Packs and Data Packs from a client-side modpack (Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, etc.). This dramatically simplifies the setup for players, ensuring they have the correct textures, models, sounds, and server-side configurations required to play on the custom server environment. By generating a simple URL for players to use, it eliminates the need for manual file transfers and installations, thereby improving accessibility and reducing support issues.
Requirement: A mod loader is required to install mods on a Minecraft server:
Forge | Fabric | NeoForge | Quilt
1. Go to the latest Server Pack Creator installer here.
2. Under Assets, choose the installer matching the desired OS.
3. Launch the installer and install Server Pack Creator.
4. Run ServerPackCreator.
5. Next to Modpack Directory, click the Open filebrowser icon.
Note: The modpack must have been run at least once to generate files.
6. Navigate to the desired modloader instance directory. The directory varies per modloader.
7. Select the desired modpack folder.
8. After the directory scan, click OK.
9. Ensure the server will match the versions listed. ServerPackCreator auto-detects the modpack's versions.
10. Press the Generate button.
11. Once finished generating, open Server Packs.
12. From the desired server pack, compress only the folders to a .zip file. These will vary based on the modpack. Ignore any other files in the folder.
13. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
14. Stop the server.
15. Go to the Files tab.
16. Log in to the server using an SFTP client. Learn how to here.
17. Upload the .zip file from step 12.
18. Return to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
19. Go to the Files tab.
Note: Uploading a modpack must be a fresh minecraft installation. If there are residual folders that match the name of the folders from step 12, delete the server-side folders.
20. Right-click the .zip file and choose Unarchive.
21. Go to the Home tab.
22. On the Level Name field, enter a new name to generate a new world.
23. Press the Save button.
