A Veloren server allows users to set a message of the day and an optional rules pop-up to be displayed to players when joining. If set, the rules will require players to press agree before they can play. Rules are a great way to set expectations on both public and private servers, ensuring there is no confusion regarding what is and is not allowed.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Choose the Config Files dropdown menu and select Description and Rules.
Note: The server must be run once to generate the file.
4. From the motd: section, enter the desired message between the quotation marks (").
5. To create server rules, replace None with the following template: Some("...").
6. Enter the desired rules between the quotation marks.
7. Once finished editing, choose Save.
8. Start the server.
