Changing the map cycle on a Natural Selection 2 server ensures the game stays fun for the community. The map cycle is the set playlist that determines which level loads up automatically after a match finishes. Keeping the list fresh prevents rounds from getting stale and stops players from running the exact same routes every time. A new lineup forces commanders to ditch their old build orders and adapt to different choke points or hive locations.
