The Legacy version of The Isle refers to the original, early-access iteration of the multiplayer dinosaur-survival game. Legacy was known for its raw and often glitchy gameplay. Still, it developed a dedicated community due to its immersive environment, intense player-versus-player interactions, and the challenge of surviving as a prehistoric animal. Although many players have migrated to Evrima for the updated experience, some still prefer the Legacy version for its nostalgia and unique, chaotic charm. The Legacy version remains accessible but is no longer actively updated or supported by the developers.

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. Stop the server.

3. On the Installed Game table, click Swap.

4. Select The Isle.

5. Pick The Isle - Legacy.

6. Choose an option for storing previous files and click Next.

7. Hit Confirm.

8. Wait for the installation to finish.

9. Start the server.

How to Install the Legacy Version on The Isle Client

1. From the Steam Library, right-click The Isle and select Properties.

2. Go to the Game Versions & Betas tab.

3. On the Selected Game Version table, choose the Default Public Version.
