Mordhau has many user-created mods that allow players to expand the variety of their server greatly. This includes the Helm's Deep Horde mod, which provides a custom map and puts players as the defenders from the popular Lord of the Rings movies in one of their most iconic scenes. When utilizing mod.io, players may have longer join times. However, they will install the required mods automatically.
How to Install Helms Deep Horde on a Mordhau Server (Mod.io)
1. Open the Helms Deep and Quent's Custom Skill Tree mod.io pages.
2. From the Helms Deep Mod.io page description, copy the Server Config section.
3. Copy the Mod ID for both mods.
4. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
5. Stop the server.
6. Go to the Startup tab.
7. From the Mod IDs field, paste the IDs from step 3, separated by comma. The ID for Quent's Custom Skill Tree must be listed last.
8. From the Server Map field, input HRD_HelmsDeep.
9. Go to Config Files > Server Config from the left sidebar.
10. Paste the config from step 2 at the bottom.
11. Once finished editing, choose Save.
12. Start the server.
13. Players will now download the mods when joining the server.
How to Install Helms Deep Horde on a Mordhau Server (.Pak)
1. Open the Helms Deep and Quent's Custom Skill Tree mod.io pages.
2. From the Helms Deep Mod.io page description, copy the Server Config section.
3. Download both mods manually.
4. Extract the .zip files into an empty folder.
5. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
6. Stop the server.
7. Go to the Files tab.
8. Find the following directory: /home/container/Mordhau/Content .
9. Choose Create > Create Folder.
10. Name the folder CustomPaks.
11. Upload the WindowsServer.pak files.
12. Right-click Quent_hordeskillsWindowsServer.pak and choose Rename.
13. Input a b before the file name and confirm rename.
14. Go to Config Files > Server Config from the left sidebar.
15. Paste the config from step 2 at the bottom.
16. Once finished editing, choose Save.
17. Go to the Startup tab.
18. From the Server Map field, input HRD_HelmsDeep.
19. Start the server.
Note: The server will only be joinable by users with both
.pakmods installed.
How to Install Helms Deep Horde (Local .Pak Method)
1. Open the Helms Deep and Quent's Custom Skill Tree mod.io pages.
2. Download both mods manually.
3. Extract the .zip files into an empty folder.
4. From the local directory for Mordhau, open the Content folder.
5. Create the CustomPaks folder.
6. Move the WindowsClient.pak files to the CustomPaks folder.
7. Launch Mordhau.
8. Open the Settings menu.
9. Go to the Manage Mods menu.
10. Mount the mods, starting with Quent's Mod. The game will crash if Quent's mod is not mounted first.
Note: If the game crashes, delete both mods from
CustomPaksand repeat the steps above.
