The Beacon client for Ark is a tool that accurately fine-tunes server settings through a convenient interface. Users can use the tool with or without logging in via SFTP, either manually exporting the game settings and applying them to a server, or connecting via SFTP to make changes on the server directly. This is useful for making quick changes that typically require editing config files and only require the user to log in through the Beacon client.
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.
2. Stop the server.
3. Go to the Files tab.
4. Choose SFTP.
5. Minimize the site to use later in the tutorial.
6. Go to the Beacon Homepage and download the latest Windows version.
7. Either log in or continue anonymously.
8. Choose New Project.
9. Pick Ark: Survival Evolved and continue with OK.
10. Select Import from the toolbar.
11. Choose Server with FTP Access and click Continue.
12. Set the mode to SFTP.
13. Fill out the SFTP details from step 4.
Note: The Beacon team does not store SFTP details. The details are not required. However, the user must choose Export instead of Deploy when connecting this way.
14. Once the import has been completed, choose OK.
15. Adjust any desired server settings from the left menu.
16. Choose Deploy.
17. Select the connected server and click Begin.
