American Truck Simulator has the option to enable the developer console. This is extremely useful for installing mods and other helpful console-only commands. In addition to exporting mod profiles, players can utilize a 'free cam' or developer camera' to freely move their camera in the space, which makes things like lining up trailers or making tricky turns much more manageable. The developer console also provides an extremely convenient method for administrators to change specific server settings.
1. From the File Explorer, find the following file path: [User]/Documents/American Truck Simulator .
2. Open the config.cfg file with a text editor.
3. From the uset g_developer line, set the value to 1.
4. On the uset g_console line, change the value to 1.
5. Press Save.
6. The developer console can be accessed in-game by pressing the (`) or (~) key.
